본 연구는 대학 교양교육 맥락에서 정보전달 말하기의 과정 중심 교수⋅학습모형을 개발하고, 이를 적용한 학습 경험을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 C대학교 1학년 대상 말하기 교양 수업에서 정보전달 말하기를 6주간 7단계로 재구성하여 운영한 뒤, 과정별 활동의 도움 정도와 난이도에 대하여 설문 및 개방형 응답을 수집하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 학생들은 전체 과정이 발표 완성도 향상에 기여하였다고 인식하였다. 그 중 발표 연습, PPT 구상, 개요 작성이 특히 유용하다고 응답하였으며, 발표 연습, 주제 선정, PPT 구상을 어려웠던 활동이라고 응답하였다. 특히 학생들은 발표 연습을 가장 도움이 되는 활동이면서 동시에 불안과 수행 부담으로 인해 가장 어려운 단계로 인식하였다. 본 연구의 정보전달 말하기 교수⋅학습 과정은 학습자의 부담을 줄이면서도 발표 역량과 자기 성찰능력을 함께 키워주는 것으로 분석되어, 대학 발표 수업에서 과정 중심 접근이필요함을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study aimed to develop a process-oriented instructional model for informative speaking in the context of university general education and to analyze students’ learning experiences following its implementation. To this end, informative speaking activities were reorganized into a seven-stage, six-week instructional process and implemented in a general education speaking course for first-year students at University C. Survey data and open-ended responses were collected to examine students’ perceptions of the helpfulness and difficulty of activities at each stage of the process. The results indicated that students perceived the overall instructional process as contributing to the improvement of presentation quality. Among the stages, presentation rehearsal, PowerPoint planning, and outline writing were reported as particularly helpful, while presentation rehearsal, topic selection, and PowerPoint planning were identified as the most difficult activities. Notably, presentation rehearsal was perceived as the most helpful activity, yet also as the most challenging stage due to anxiety and performance-related burden. These findings suggest that the proposed process-oriented instructional model for informative speaking supports the development of both presentation competence and reflective abilities while reducing learners’ instructional burden, highlighting the need for a process-oriented approach in university-level presentation courses.
