中世國語 ‘-어 이셔＞-에셔＞-어셔’의 文法化에 대한 연구

'잇다/이시다’의 雙形語로 상정되는 用言 ‘시다’의 設定을 인정하지 않는 입장에서 ‘-어 잇/이시-＞-엣/에시-＞-엇/어시-’의 文法化 過程과 平行하게, ‘-어 이셔＞-에셔＞-어셔’의 문법화 과정이 說明되었다. 中世國語에서 ‘-에셔’의 用例가 매우 드문 것은 다른 活用形의 ‘-엣/에시-’ 構成과 달리, ‘-에셔’는 ‘-어셔’로 보다 일찍 문법화되었기 때문이다. 다만, 당시의 ‘-어셔’가 形容詞와의 結合制約을 보이는 것은 現代國語의 ‘-어서’와 다른 점이다. ‘-어셔’ 構成과 類似해 보이는 ‘-고셔, -(으)며셔, -이라셔’의 ‘셔’는 後置詞 ‘-셔’가 結合된 구성으로 보았으며, 현대국어의 連結語尾 構成에서 ‘-어서’ 자리에 ‘-었어’의 代置가 불가능한 이유도 ‘-엇/어시-’의 文法化 過程과 관련된 것으로 설명하였다. 그러나 ‘-어 잇/이시-’ 구성의 統辭 構造와 意味 機能의 문제는 아직 未解決된, 여전히 난해한 문제이다. 이러한 문제들은 차후의 과제로 남겨 둔다.
Abstract
A Study on the Grammaticalization of‘-eo isyeo>-esyeo>-eosyeo' in the Middle Korean Jeong, Eon-hak In this paper, I explain the process of the grammaticalization which has been done in ‘-eo isyeo＞-esyeo＞-eosyeo’ which can be compared the process ‘-eo is / isi-＞-es / esi-＞-eos / eosi-’, without taking the verb ‘sida’ as the doublet of ‘isda / isida’. The reason why the ‘-esyeo’ is not sufficiently observed in the historical literatures is that ‘-esyeo’ had completed its grammaticalization to ‘-eosyeo’ in early period. And in this point the ‘-esyeo＞-eosyeo’ differs the others such as ‘-es/esi-’. And the ristriction that ‘-eosyeo’ can not be concatenated with adjective makes difference between ‘-eosyeo’ and ‘-eoseo’.The ‘syeo’ of ‘-gosyeo, -(u)myeosyeo, -irasyeo’ which resemble ‘-eosyeo’ apparently is regarded as postposition ‘-syeo’, and the reason that in present Korean conjunctive ending ‘-eoseo’ can not be substituted for ‘-eoseo’(past ‘-eos’ and conjunctive ending ‘-eo’) is explained by the grammaticalization of ‘-eos / eosi-’ too.
