Abstract
Dengzhou was a realistic space that exchanges like diplomacy and trade between dynasties were carried out as well as an imaginary space that intellectuals joined in diplomatic journey wrote poetry and prose. Bohai sea connected to Dengzhou was a space of death to Joseon Dynasty's intellectuals. The realistic character of Dengzhou shows a complicated appearance, because of being folded with its subjectivity as an imaginary space. The fact that Dengzhou had occupied a position as an attractive place in the history of diplomacy between Joseon and Chinese dynasties is meaningful in the history of civilization. There are some regions in China as meaningful spaces memorized by Koreans, Dengzhou is representative as a city with the famous mountains like Qianshan, Yiwulüshan, Shouyangshan. Joseon intellectuals good impression about Dengzhou was from its fairyland image originally, emotion stirred by it was just longing for their homeland.
