연구목적: 본 연구는 공립 유치원의 통합 학급에서 이루어지는 일반유아교사와 유아특수교사의 협력교수 경험에 대하여 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법: 연구참여자는 4개의 공립유치원으로부터 8명의 교사가 참여하였으며, 연구참여자들과의 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과: 일반유아교사와 유아특수교사는 유아 통합학급에서의 협력교수 실행에 대한 철학과 믿음 사이의 불일치에 기인한 갈등을 경험하였다. 또한, 일반유아교사와 유아특수교사 간 통합학급의 장애유아 및 일반유아에 대한 책임감과 의무에 대한 상반된 생각을 가지기도 하였다. 결론: 서로의 역할과 의무에 대한 생각의 불일치는 협력교수에서의 의사소통을 포함한 다양한 어려움을 발생시켰다. 또한, 일반유아교사와 유아특수교사 사이의 상호적인 신뢰와 믿음은 협력 교수의 질을 향상시키는 데 가장 중요한 요소로 나타났다.
Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate co-teaching experiences of early childhood teachers with special education teachers, and co-teaching children with special needs in inclusive classrooms of public kindergartens. Method: Participants were eight teachers from four public kindergartens, and in-depth interviews were conducted. Results: The results of this study were as follows: Teachers experienced conflicts from the discrepancies between the philosophies and beliefs regarding co-teaching performances in early childhood inclusive classrooms. Also, teachers reported that each early childhood teacher and early childhood special education teacher had different ideas pertaining to accountability and responsibility for children with special needs and other children in inclusive classrooms. Conclusion: These discrepancies of ideas about teachers’ roles and responsibilities occurred together with difficulties involving communication techniques on overall aspects of co-teaching. Mutual confidence and trust among co-teachers were the most important factors for improving the quality of cooperative teaching.
