전통 ‘성인’ 관념의 근대적 변화에 관한 일고찰

Abstract

China's "sage view" is one of the important concepts of Chinese philosophy and culture and represents the ideal personality model that Chinese people aspire to. From the perspective of ancient Chinese philosophy, "saints" are considered morally complete, intelligent, and faithful inheritors of tradition. In modern times, however, the traditional view of saints has changed. It is emphasized that "saints" are also people with desires, not perfect, and those who think close to them should have respect for and pursuit of physical strength, scientific knowledge, freedom, and equal values. Due to the limitations of traditional concepts of the concept of "saint," new concepts such as "hero," and "Xinmin" were introduced instead of this term, and concepts such as "superhuman," influenced by Nietzsche's philosophy, were introduced as alternatives. This paper gives an overview of the traditional “sage view” formed in the pre-Qin period and examines the changes of the period of upheaval after modern times.
