캉여우웨이는 중국의 근대 시기에 서구적 근대의 수용에 앞장 선 동시에 서구적 근대, 특히 자본주의를 넘어서기 위한 모색을 진지하게 진행했던 인물이다. 지구적 자본주의가 심각한 부작용을 만들어내고 있으며 중국공산당은 서구적 근대를 넘어서고자 하는 의지를 드러내고 있는 시기에, 그의 근대 극복에 대한 사유는 그의 사상이 더 뚜렷한 현재적 의미를 갖도록 만들고 있다. 이 논문은 캉여우웨이의 대동사상의 형성 과정과 내용에 대한 분석을 통해 그가 근대 적응과 근대 극복 사이의 긴장 관계를 어떻게 처리하려고 했고 그 과정에서 현재 문제를 해결하는 데 어떤 유용한 사상자원이 있는가를 파악하고자 했다.
Abstract
Kang Youwei was a historical figure who took the lead in accepting Western modernity and at the same time seriously sought to overcome Western modernity, especially capitalism, during the Chinese early modern period. When global capitalism is creating serious side effects and the Chinese Communist Party is showing its willingness to go beyond Western modern times, his thoughts on overcoming modernity makes his ideas more relevant today. This paper analyzes the development process and characteristics of Kang’s “Datong thought” to find out how he attempted to deal with the tension between modern adaptation and modern overcoming and what useful resources are available to solve the present problems.
