대학 모집단위 광역화 제도에 관한 분석적 연구

이 연구는 대학 모집단위 광역화의 개념과 제도적 배경, 교육철학적 관점과 모집단위의 중요성, 교육과정과 모집단위, 산업체-사회경제-인구학적 관점의 모집단위, 대학의 교육내용에서 직업능력과 모집단위 관계, 대학내ㆍ외적 요인과 모집단위 등에 관한 분석을 통하여 이 제도의 장ㆍ단점, 발전방안 및 개선방안을 모색하는데 있었다. 이 연구의 방법은 대학신입생 선발과 편입학에서 이루어지고 있는 현행 대학의 학생 모집단위 광역화 제도에 관한 특징과 장ㆍ단점을 요인별로 분석하고 해석하는 방법으로 이루어졌다. 연구결과 대학의 교육과정은 전통적인 학과제와 교과중심 교육과정에 기반하고 있으면서 학생모집은 인위적인 광역화 모집단위로 하고 있어서 학제간 통합교육의 시너지 효과가 없으며 오히려 계열성이 부족한 전공제로 학생들의 교양과 전공과목 이수에 혼란을 야기하고 있는 것으로 해석되었다. 또한 대학 모집단위 광역화 제도는 산업의 변화나 기업체의 요구 및 SCANS가 제시하고 있는 기초소양과 직업상의 직무능력을 기를 수 있는 능력중심교육에 적절하지 못한 학생 모집단위로 볼 수 있으며, 학사운영에도 불합리적이거나 비효율성을 가지고 있는 제도인 것으로 해석되었다.
Abstract
The purpose of the study were to describe the issues of the wide unit of students recruiting system in Korean Universities, to identify it's relations to curriculum, industries, socio-economic and analytical aspect, and to explain how the system works related to occupational competence, factors of inter and outer college situation. Analytical, descriptive and hermeneutic research methodologies were employed to answer the strong and weak point about the wide unit of new students and transfer students recruiting system. The result of the study revealed that between the wide unit of students recruiting system and department centered curriculum were not harmonious caused of side-effect of the system. the wide unit of students recruiting system should be cope with the industries, needs of companies and the requirements of SCANS so that competence would be raised in the system. And the system should be studied about its effectiveness here and there to do decide which university and/or major program(department) is suitable for the future.
