초록

본 연구는 다문화가정 초기 청소년의 문화정체성 잠재프로파일을 분류하고, 잠재프로파일에 따른 학교생활 및 삶의 만족도 차이와 예측요인을 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 다문화청소년패널조사(MAPS: Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study)의 2기 2차년도 응답한 초등학교 5학년 2,073명 이었다. 자료분석을 위해 3단계 접근법(3-step approach)을 통해 잠재프로파일분석, BCH, R3STEP을 실시하였으며 분석 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 다문화가정 초기 청소년의 문화정체성 잠재프로파일은 ‘부조화형’,‘저항과 몰입형’,‘내적 성찰형’,‘통합적 자각형’ 네 유형으로 분류되었다. 둘째, 다문화가정 초기 청소년의 문화정체성 잠재프로파일 유형에 따른 학교생활 및 삶의 만족도 차이는 통합적 자각형, 저항과 몰입형, 내적 성찰형, 부조화형 순으로 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 다문화가정 초기 청소년의 문화정체성 잠재프로파일 분류에 영향을 미치는 예측요인을 살펴본 결과, 개인요인 중에서는 성별, 자아존중감, 현재 걱정거리로 나타났으며 환경요인 중에서는 부모양육태도, 사회적 지지가 유의한 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구결과의 시사점과 다문화가정 초기 청소년이 문화정체성을 건강하게 형성할 수 있는 개입방안에 대해 논의하였다.

Abstract

The present study was conducted to examine the latent profiles of cultural identity in early adolescents from multicultural families, and to explore differences in school life and life satisfaction relating to such latent profiles. Data were collected from 2,073 students who participated in the MAPS(Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study) Wave 2. Results were as follows: First, the latent profiles of early adolescents cultural identity from multicultural families were categorized into four groups such as `dissonance', `resistance and immersion', `introspection' and `integrative awareness'. Second, the differences in school life and life satisfaction according to the cultural identity latent profile type of early adolescents from multicultural families were found to be high in the order of `integrated awareness', `resistance and immersion', `internal reflection’and `dissonance'. Third, as a result of examining the predictors that influence the classification of the cultural identity latent profiles of early adolescents from multicultural families, gender, self-esteem and current concerns emerged as significant personal factors, and parental parenting attitudes and social support emerged as significant environmental factors. The implications of these results and intervention methods to help early adolescents from multicultural families form healthy cultural identities were discussed.
