21세기 초 온라인 스트리밍으로 개인화된 방송을 할 수 있는 시대에 ‘영화 유튜버’라고 부르는 사람들은 내용 요약, 평가, 해설 등 영화라는 매체를 발화 중계 형태로 옮기는 역할을 하고 있으며, 이는 영화의 내용 요약만이 아니라 발화자의 재해석과 전달 능력이 선호 받는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 한국 무성영 화 시대의 변사는 내용 전달자를 넘어 영화라는 새로운 매체를 해석하는 중개 자였다. 무성영화 시대의 변사는 영화라는 새로운 매체를 무대 공연으로 옮기 는 작업을 했고 이 점에서 독자성을 띤다. 무성영화 시대 변사의 인기 요인이 영화를 재해석하여 전달하는 공연 능력에 있다면, 무성영화가 무대 공연화된 것을 트랜스미디어의 관점으로 볼 수 있을 것이다. 영화라는 콘텐츠 전달을 공 연 실황으로 변형하여 향유하는 현상이라는 점에서 무성영화 시대의 변사와 영화 유튜버의 공통점을 볼 수 있으며, 영화 유튜버는 일종의 트랜스미디어 현 상이 현대 매체 상황에서 표현된 것이라 볼 수 있다.
Abstract
In the early 21st century, in the era of personalized online streaming broadcasting, so-called “movie youtubers” are playing a role in transferring the medium of film to the form of speech broadcasting, such as content summary, evaluation, and commentary, and it can be said that the speaker’s interpretation and delivery ability are preferred, not just the summary of the content of the film. In the era of Korean silent films, narrators were not only content carriers but also intermediaries who interpreted the new medium of film. The silent movie era narrators/commentator were unique in that they were tasked with translating the new medium of film into stage performances. If the popularity of the silent film narrator is due to their ability to interpret and deliver films, we can see the transformation of silent films into stage performances from a transmedia perspective. In terms of the phenomenon of enjoying the delivery of film content by transforming it into a performance, we can see the similarities between the silent film narrator and movie YouTubers, and movie YouTubers can be considered as a kind of transmedia phenomenon expressed in the modern media situation.
