This study describes the universal standard and format of the three basic elements of the traditional Shinto ritual, the sport as a martial art, and the show business for the purpose of economic activity, which constitute Ozumo regarded as the most beloved professional sport by modern Japanese. This is an analysis of the formal normativeness of each element. The Ozumo inherits the Japanese tradition, but multiple components are independent of each other's characteristics from the old days. Rather than sticking to specific elements, the flexibility of each element for the development of Ozumo is exquisitely reflected in a standardized style that is organically and complexly linked to each other. It was able to be transmitted and developed as a fusion-type cultural heritage representing modern Japan.
