본 연구는 CIS 지역 고려인 한국어 교사의 발표 담화에 나타난 응결장치 사용 양상을 분석하여 담화 능력의 특성과 교육적 시사점을 탐색하였다. 그리고 통계적 방법을 활용하여 고려인 한국어 교사이자 학습자의 중간언어로서의 발표 담화에서 나타난 한국어 응결장치의 사용 양상이 발표 담화 수행 능력에 미치는 영향을 실증하였다. 분석 대상은 총 27편의 발표 담화이며, 응결장치를 문법적·논리적·어휘적·의미적·인용 장치의 다섯 범주로 나누어 양적과 질적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 응결장치의 사용 빈도는 담화 능력과 정적 상관관계를 보였으나 사용 양상은 논리적·어휘적 응결장치에 편중되어 있었다. 또한 숙달도가 높더라도 담화 수준의 조직과 응집성이 부족한 사례가 확인되었다. 본 연구는 응결장치의 체계적·단계적 활용을 중심으로 한 명시적 담화 교육의 필요성을 제안하며, 향후 고려인 교사의 담화 능력 향상을 위한 교육 방안 마련에 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study examined the use of cohesive devices in the presentation discourse of Koryoin Korean language teachers in the CIS region to investigate their discourse competence and related pedagogical implications. Twenty-seven samples of presentation discourse were transcribed from video recordings and analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively, focusing on five categories of cohesive devices- grammatical, logical, lexical, semantic, and citation. The results indicated a positive correlation between the frequency of cohesive device use and overall discourse performance. However, the participants relied mainly on logical and lexical devices, whereas grammatical, semantic, and citation were used less frequently. Even highly proficient speakers displayed limited discourse organization and cohesion, indicating that their discourse competence remains largely sentence-level. These findings suggest that explicit and systematic instruction in cohesive strategies is needed in teacher-training programs for Koryoin Korean teachers. Such programs should provide stage-based practice to help teachers use diverse cohesive devices appropriately across discourse contexts. This study offers foundational data for improving the discourse competence of Koryoin Korean language teachers and for developing more effective teacher-training programs.
