본 연구에서는 일본인 대학생과 한국인 일본어 학습자의 자연회화에 나타난 언어의 수정 행위를 분석 고찰하였다. 일본인 대학생 2명과 한국인 일본어 학습자 2명의 회화를 분석대상으로 하였다. 3회에 걸친 90분의 회화를 분석한 결과, 다양한 수정 행위가 나타났다. 학습자의 실수에 대해 수정이 이루어진 장면에서는 일본인 학생의 다양한 수정 요구가 군데 군데 보이고 있었다. 수정이 이루어지지 않은 장면도 있었다. 실수를 한 사람이 상대방의 수정 요구를 알아차리지 못하였다. 그러나 상대방 또한 수정 요구가 받아들여지지 않았다고 해서 무리해서 수정을 하지 않았다. 이는 회화의 전개에 지장이 없다고 판단한 결과라 할 수 있다. 수정 행위는 다양하게 나타났다. 학습자끼리의 수정, 학습자가 일본인학생의 실수를 고치는 수정 요구도 보였다. 교실에서의 수정 행위와 실제 회화에서의 수정 행위가 다르다는 것을 알 수 있다는 점에 이 연구의 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The present study analyzed the linguistic repairing behaviors of Japanese university students and Korean Japanese learners in their spontaneous conversations. The conversations of two Japanese university students and two Korean Japanese learners were analyzed. The analysis of three 90-minute conversations revealed a variety of repairing behaviors. In the scenes where the learner's mistakes were repaired, the Japanese student's various requests for repair were evident. There were also scenes where no repair was made. The person who made the mistake did not notice the other person's request for repair. However, the other person did not feel forced to make a repair just because the request was perceived to be not accepted. This is considered a result of the fact that the mistake did not interrupt the conversation. Repairing behaviors widely varied in form: there were learner-to-learner repairs in some cases, and learners repair Japanese students' mistakes in others. The significance of this study is that we can see the difference between repairing behavior in the classroom and repairing behavior in actual conversation.
