Abstract
This article clarifies how to legitimize the gender ideologies of Japan and Korea from the question about the difference of the responses on #MeToo movement between Japan and Korea. As a result, both Japan and Korea have a higher percentage of moralization strategies and standardization strategies, and Korea has used more moralization strategies including irony and fear than Japan including irony and desire. In addition, while Japan's standardization strategy includes collective integration, subjectivity and questioning of victims, and the citation of conspiracy theories, Korea's accusations of false sexual violence are conspicuous. However, there are common point which the essence of the movement is questionized by quoting #MeToo. Furthermore, in the third most commonly used rationalization strategy, Japan and Korea tend to rationalize ideology by referring to objectives and future effects. However, authorization strategies are characterized only in Korea, and ideology is authorized by law. Moreover, considering the assumptions made by the above analysis in Japan and Korea, there are the few tendencies of putting feminists into a negative group, and the awareness of the equality of men and women and preferential treatment for women in society both in Japan and Korea. On the other hand, the difference is that in Japan, the premise is that the accuser of sexual violence is suspicious, and conspiracy theories were linked to politics and nationalism. Furthermore, it is characterized by the acceptance of rape myths such as subjectivity of victims' actions and psychology and desire for sexual violence. In addition, several false sexual violence charges in Korea have highlighted the premise that the accuser is lying, and the resulting fear is characterized by negative social effects and strengthening of the law.
