The purpose of this study is to reveal the value of composing a New style of dance music for piano based on the sub-Saharan cross-rhythm. CrossRhythm is the core of African traditional rhythms and there are a lot of rhythmic variety of combination between voices. This study contains 5 Kinds of cross-rhythmic combination ; 3:2, 6:4, 3:4, 3:8, 4:3. It does not imply the primitivity of African Music but just the rhythmic patterns. New style of dance music created in this study shows various positive effects; rhythmic variety with unexpected accents enables various use for various situations also with musical arrangement of melodies and harmonies more enriched. This study presents several samples to make dance music with crossrhythms and follow-up studies for making dance music with many musical categories, i.e. tribal, instrumental, regional rhythms are strongly proposed.
