Abstract

The results of this study that has explored the meanings of body in contem- porary dance which is the self(or thinking) representation media, are as follows. ◦ Dance as the media of contemporary thinking representation is accessible through the system, and this accessibility is interpreted not only as social requests for dance, but also as social function of dance. ◦ Dance, which is the individuals’ unique thinking representation media, is in social network that promotes the development of individuals’ creativity in the present progressive form at each different starting point, which is led to the devel- opment of collective creativity of each different individual. ◦ Dance as the media of contemporary thinking representation is accessible through the system, and this accessibility is not only social requests for dance, but also social function of dance. ◦ In dance which is the thinking representation media, body that is the subject and tool of movement is not the object of understanding, but the originality and individuality of individuals who are the subject of representation. ◦ The originality is nature of body represented through potential power (or dance creativity). ◦ The new interpretations of body in which the creativity is nature and the potential is an instinct are working as the opportunities to open the new present ongoing dance beyond genre dance. ◦ In the representation media dance, body is the substance of potential com- posed of physical appearance and creativity that creates spirit, mind, purpose, or ideal.
