야담 연구에 대한 반성과 모색

이 논문은 야담에 대한 연구 성과들을 두루 읽고 정리한 뒤, 특징과 문제점을 살펴봄으로써 야담 연구의 새로운 길을 모색하는 한 계기를 마련하고자 했다. 야담 연구의 분야를 ‘장르론’, ‘형성 과정과 세계관’, ‘유형’, ‘야담집 편찬자와 야담집 간 관계’, ‘개별 야담집’, ‘모티프와 인물형상’, ‘개별 야담 작품론 및 주제론’, ‘서술 방식’, ‘근대 야담’, ‘활용’ 등으로 나누었다. 분야별 연구 경향과 특징을 간략히 소개하였다. 그리고 그에 대하여 전반적으로 반성하고 새로운 연구를 이끌기 위한 방안을 모색했다.
Abstract
This paper tries to explore new ways of studying Yadam(野談) by examining recent research on Yadam and analyzing their characteristics and problems. In this study Yadam research is divided into the following fields: genre theory, Yadam formation and its world view, its types, relationship between Yadam anthologies and their editors, analysis of individual anthologies, Yadam's motifs and characterization, individual Yadam story and its subjects, narrative methods, modern Yadam, and application of Yadam. This paper introduces and criticizes the new achievement of each research field, which leads to a general examination of the direction of current Yadam studies and generation of research interest in the new areas of Yadam studies.
