Abstract
The purpose of this study was to effect a L-carnitine Administration on Anaerobic Capacity in Elite Judo Athletes and to provide a experimental date needed ideal bodycomposition through verification of safety ergogenic acid, anaerobic capacity and blood lactate concentration. Subjects were Judo athletes with more than 6 years Judo career, no recent medical diagnosis, and no experience to intake a certain drug or a herb remedy at least within 6 months before this study among male elite Judo athletes in Y university. It was a long-term study, therefore, it described the objective and methods of this study in detail, selected 21 volunteers and classified them into 3 groups with 7 people each; 2g of carnitine and exercise (CE), exercise and placebo (EP) and only exercise (EC). Using SPSS/PC 15.0 program, it calculated measurement items, mean and standard deviation. It conducted tow-way(3RG x 4RM)ANOVA to groups and treatment periods in each measurement item, anaerobic capability and difference between lactic acid. It used post-hoc test for groups and used contrast test to verify the difference of treatment period and blood sampling time. With those, it deducted following conclusions. First, in anaerobic ability, it showed significant increase of peak power and mean power by treatment period. Second, in the ratio of lactic acid production of fatigue substance, there was no interaction effect during treatment and no statistically significantly difference in the major effect by treatment period. However, in the ratio of lactic acid recovery, it was a little bit increased in the carnitine-intake group and it was statistically significantly increased by treatment period.
