Abstract

This study determined physiological characteristics of 15 female Judoists by analyzing anaerobic performance capacity and blood lactate concentration during games. Fifteen female Judo athletes from Y university participated in this study and all of them were registered by Korea Judo Federation (career, 6.27±1.28yrs; age, 20.27±0.96yrs; weight, 59.33±6.56kg; percent body fat, 18.11±1.79%). Body composition using impedance method, 30 sec Wingate anaerobic test, and blood lactate concentration changes before and after Wingate test and Judo games were measured. Back strength test and hand grip test were also conducted for measuring skill related physical fitness. To analyze anaerobic performance capacity assessment, Z_score of each physical fitness factor was calculated and total added Z_score was used. We found that back strength was 94.25±13.82kg, domain arm hand grip was 32.86±3.46kg, and Wingate anaerobic peak power and mean power were 6.34±0.43watt/kg and 5.19±0.40watt/kg, respectively. There was a significant relationship in anaerobic performance capacity and blood lactate concentration changes after games (r= -0.21 ~ –0.42(p<0.05)). After Wingate test and Judo games, there were significant blood lactate concentration changes in resting 3 min, 5min, and 15min phases (p<0.05). There was no significant relationship in blood lactate concentration changes before and after Wingate test and Judo games. Based upon this study results, this study determined physiological characteristics of female Judoists by recognizing body composition and anaerobic performance capacity. Moreover, it seems be needed to apply new training method for improving anaerobic peak power.
