Abstract

This thesis was reveal that a effect of the current scientific culture is great in the process of rebuilding as a ‘small nation’ and the modern child being called as the ‘propaganda subject’ of empire and nation with the child magazine Boy (1937-1940). The essential requirement of a new generation suitable for a war time regime was ‘science.’ Science, which had previously served as an indicator of the old generation and the new generation has become a central element in the development process of modern children, as well as indelible generations, as well as a critical deficiency in the curriculum. Therefore, intellectuals who produce children's magazines needed to search for writing methods for science education. Boy shows well how science interacted with fairy tales, the most important source of wonder. The magazine is far from that which is with them that the destroyer of surreal stories and legendary street tales, fairy tales, adventure, detective stories, magical entertainment was available to the public an insight into the sciences. Scientific writing combining fairy tale and fantasy has become a technique to educate ‘science children’ by cultivating reasoning, riddles, detective novels’ reasoning power. Science education using this wonderland reflects the development process of children competing with two different modes of thinking, reason and magic, and has a close relationship with the growth of children. Like this modern intellectuals combined science and magical world fairy tale to praise new discoveries, inspire wonders, present future directions, and discipline children's bodies and minds. The scientific education cultivated by the children of a war time regime created an imperialist ‘schoolboy’ by resonating with fairy tales, novels, and a war time discourses that instigate loyalty and patriotism.
