선무도의 운동미학 방법론 정초

이 연구는 선무도의 운동미학을 위한 방법론을 정초하는 데 그 목적을 둔다. 불교전통무예인 선무도의 진정한 가치는 금강경의 가르침과 그 동작 사이의 연관성을 해명하는 전문적인 철학적 작업을 동반해야 하며, 그 안에서 각각의 동작이 갖는 진리의 아름다움을 해석해 낼 수 있어야 하는 것이다. 따라서 선무도의 운동미학적 고찰은 세 차원으로 그 아름다움의 가치6를 설명할 수 있다. 첫째는 선무도의 내적 이념이 주는 아름다움, 둘째는 선무도의 외적 형식이 주는 아름다움, 그리고 셋째는 선무도의 내외 순환이 주는 아름다움이다. 외면적인 행위보다는 그 행위에 담긴 종교적인 이념과진리의 아름다움을 분석하고, 외면적인 행위를 분석할 때에도 그것 자체의 형식보다는 내면적인 이념과의 연관 속에서 그 행동들의 의미와 아름다움이 분석되어야 하며, 그리고 외면적인 행위와 내면적인 이념간의 조화가 주는 아름다움을 이해하고 해석해야한다는 것이다. 결론적으로 선무도의 운동미학은 예술 철학적인 분석이 동반되어야 하며, 선무도와 불교교리의 연관성을 밝혀내고 그러한 연관 속에서 각각의 동작이 상징하는 의미가 해석되어야 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of the present paper is to lay the cornerstone for the foundation of kinematic and aesthetic interpretation of Sunmudo. The true value of Sunmudo, which is the traditional martial art of Buddhism, should be understood by employing professional philosophical works elucidating the relevance between instructions of Geumganggyeong and kinematic motions thereof, wherein the beauty of each motion can be interpreted and recognized. Thus, the kinematic and aesthetic examination on Sonmudo is comprised three aspects explicating the beauty of Sunmundo. First, it is the beauty of intrinsic idea of Sunmudo. Second, it is the beauty of extrinsic format of Sunmudo. And the third is the beauty given by the intra- and extra-circulation of Sunmudo. The approach implies that the analysis of the beauty of truth and religious idea embedded in each motion, rather than exposed behavior, is needed first by analyzing the meaning and beauty of behaviors in the relevance between intrinsic idea rather than extrinsic format of Sunmudo, to understand and interpret the beauty of harmony between extrinsic behavior and intrinsic idea of Sunmudo. In conclusion, the kinematic and aesthetic understanding of Sunmudo needs the employment of artistic and philosophical analysis to identify and elucidate the relevance between Sunmudo and doctrines of Buddhism, wherein the symbolized meanings of each motion should be interpreted.
