21세기 관현악 관련 연구의 현황과 과제

본 연구의 목적은 지난 10년간 국·내외 관현악 음악관련 출간 논문들의 연구 동향을 분석하여 한국의 관현악 연구가 나아가야 할 방향을 조망해 보는 것이다. 이를 위해 2012년부터 2022년까지 한국학술연구정보서비스(RISS)와 국회전자도서관에서 제공하는 학술DB를 통해 산출된 논문들과 해외 논문검색 엔진인PROQUEST, 세계음악교육학회(ISME)와 미국의 음악교육자협회(NAfME), 그리고 미국음악대학협회의 공식저널에 출간된 논문들을 연구대상(N=14,289)으로 삼아 비교·분석하였다. 이를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지난 10년간 출간된 관현악 음악과 관련한 국내 논문은 총 259편으로 관현악 음악분석과 연주법관련논문이 128편(49.4%)으로 가장 많은 반면, 음악교육이나 진로·정책 분야에 대한 연구는 상대적으로 미약한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 관현악 관련 논문들의 연구대상 중 성인이나 유아, 그리고 노년층은 1% 미만인것으로 나타나 이들을 대상으로 한 연구가 시급하다는 것을 확인하였다. 셋째, 해외의 관현악 논문들은 양적연구(60% 이상)를 가장 많이 시행하고 있는 반면, 한국은 문헌연구(76%)가 가장 많고 양적연구(20%)는 매우적은 것으로 나타나, 양적연구가 활성화될 필요가 있음을 확인하였다. 넷째, 국내에는 관현악 관련 논문들을전문으로 다루는 저널이 없어 다양한 저널들에 출간되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 10년간 출간된 국내의 전체 관현악 전공 관련 논문 수(N=259)는 해외의 하나의 저널이 출간한 수의 절반정도에 불과해 관현악연구의 활성화가 필요한 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to presume the future direction of Korean orchestral music research by analyzing research trends in published papers related to orchestral music at Korea and abroad over the past 10 years. The samples(N=14,289) from 2012 to 2022 for this study were produced through search engines of academic databases provided by the Korea Research Information Service (RISS) and the Electronic Library of US Congress, PROQUEST. Also, research papers published in the official journals of the National Association for Music Education (MAfME), the International Society for Music Education (ISME), and the Colleges of Music Society were used as research subjects for comparison and analysis. The conclusions obtained through this are as follows. First, there were a total of 259 research papers on orchestral music published over the past decade in Korea, with 128 papers (49.4%) related to orchestral music analysis and performance methods, while research on music education or career and policy is relatively weak. Second, less than 1% of the research subjects of orchestral-related papers were adults, infants, and the elderly, confirming that research on them is urgent. Third, while orchestral research papers abroad conducted the most quantitative research (60% or more), Korea has the most literature research (76%), and there are very few quantitative studies, confirming that quantitative research needs to be activated. Fourth, there is no journal in Korea that specializes in orchestral-related papers, so it is published in various journals. Finally, the total number of papers related to orchestral music majors (N=259) published in Korea over the past decade is only about half the number published by a single journal abroad, indicating that orchestral research needs to be activated.
