한국어 뮤지컬 보컬 교육의 질적 제고 방안: 내ㆍ외국인 학습자 경험 분석을 중심으로

본 연구는 내･외국인 학습자가 한국어 뮤지컬 노래 학습에서 겪는 다양한 어려움과 그 해결 방안을 탐구하고 학습자의 경험과 시사점 고찰을 통해 뮤지컬 노래 교육의 질적 향상을 도모하는데 목적이 있다. 연구 방법으로는 설문 조사법을 통해 학습자들의 경험과 요구를 파악하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 질적 및 정량적 분석을 수행하였다. 연구내용으로 첫째, 외국인 학습자들은 뮤지컬 교육 경험이 다소 부족하게 나타났으며, 한국어 능력도 다양하게 분포되어 있었다. 반면, 한국인 학습자들은 상대적으로 높은 뮤지컬 교육 경험을 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 외국인 학습자들은 음악이론, 발음, 음정, 박자 등 기본적인 요소 및 한국어 발음과 가사 이해에서 큰어려움을 경험하였으며, 한국인 학습자들은 전체 노래를 표현하는 기술적인 측면에서 어려움을 느꼈다. 셋째, 자음과 모음 발음, 수업 방식의 효과성, 에듀테크 활용 등에 대해서도 의견을 수렴하였으며, 약간의 차이가 있지만 두 그룹 모두 새로운 학습 프로그램에 대한 기대가 컸다. 이를 통해 본 연구에서는 개인별 맞춤형 교육의필요성과 뮤지컬 보컬의 기술적 향상과, 추상적 표현에 대한 이해를 돕는 다양한 학습 전략의 중요성을 강조하였다. 연구 결과, 외국인 학습자에게는 기초적인 발음 및 음악 이론 교육이, 한국인 학습자에게는 심화된 보컬테크닉 및 에듀테크 활용 교육이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 맞춤형 접근을 통해 다양한 학습자가 효과적으로 학습할 수 있는 환경을 조성하는 데 초석이 되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
This study aims to explore the various challenges faced by Korean and international learners in the process of learning Korean musical songs, and to propose solutions that can enhance the quality of musical theatre song education through a consideration of learners' experiences and implications. The research utilized a survey methodology to assess the experiences and needs of the learners, forming the basis for both qualitative and quantitative analyses. The findings indicate that, first, international learners generally exhibited limited experience with musical education, with varying levels of Korean language proficiency. In contrast, Korean learners possessed relatively extensive experience in musical education. Second, international learners experienced significant difficulties with fundamental elements such as music theory, pronunciation, pitch, rhythm, and comprehension of Korean lyrics, while Korean learners faced challenges in the technical aspects of expressing the song as a whole. Third, feedback was gathered on the pronunciation of consonants and vowels, the effectiveness of instructional methods, and the use of educational technology(EdTech). Despite slight differences, both groups expressed strong expectations for new learning programs. The study emphasizes the need for personalized education, the enhancement of vocal techniques, and the importance of diverse learning strategies to aid in understanding abstract expressions in musical vocals. The results suggest that international learners would benefit from foundational education in pronunciation and music theory, while Korean learners require advanced vocal techniques and the integration of EdTech in their learning process. It is hoped that this tailored approach will lay the foundation for creating an environment conducive to effective learning for a diverse range of learners.
