본 연구는 우리나라 음악 창작교육 연구 동향 분석을 목적으로 수행되었다. 음악 창작교육 관련 연구 134 편을 출간 연도, 연구 방법, 연구 주제, 연구 대상, 교육 맥락, 표현 매체의 범주에서 분석하여 다음과 같은결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 우리나라 음악 창작교육 논문 수는 2000년대와 2010년대에 걸쳐 꾸준히 증가하다가 2020년대에 들어 급격한 양적 증가를 보였다. 둘째, 연구 방법에서는 문헌 연구가 전 기간에 걸쳐 높은비중을 차지했으며, 양적 연구, 질적 연구, 혼합 연구도 2010년대 중반부터 수행되고 있었다. 셋째, 연구 주제는 창작 교수·학습 방법을 다룬 연구에 상당히 집중되어 있었고, 다음으로 음악 창작 활동에 대한 학습자 경험및 인식을 다룬 연구의 비중이 높았다. 넷째, 연구 대상은 실천 대상 연구가 과반을 차지하였고, 다음으로 인적 대상과 물적 대상의 연구도 유사한 비율로 수행되었다. 실천 대상 연구의 높은 비중은 추후 교육 현장 적용을 통한 실증적 연구로의 발전 가능성을 내포한다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 다섯째, 음악 창작교육 연구가 가장활발하게 수행된 교육 맥락은 초등학교였으며 다음으로 중등학교와 초·중등학교 복합 맥락에서 이루어진 연구가 많았다. 이를 통해 우리나라 음악 창작교육은 주로 학교를 중심으로 이루어짐을 알 수 있었다. 여섯째, 표현 매체는 악기를 활용한 연구가 디지털 매체를 활용한 연구보다 다소 많았다. 반면, 디지털 매체를 활용한 연구는 2020년대부터 급격히 증가하였다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 창작 교수·학습의 다양화를 반영한 측정 및평가 연구, 창작 수업에서 교수자와 학습자 간 상호작용 고찰, 창작교육의 맥락과 연구 대상 확대의 필요성을제안하였다.
Abstract
This study examines research trends in teaching and learning for creating music in Korea. A total of 134 studies were analyzed based on categories of publication year, research methods, research topics, research subjects, educational contexts, and media. The results are as follows: First, the num ber of studies on teaching and learning in creating music steadily increased throughout the 2000s and 2010s, with a notable surge in quantitative growth beginning in the 2020s. Second, in terms of re search methods, literature reviews consistently accounted for the majority across all periods, while quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method approaches gained traction starting in the mid-2010s. Third, the research topics showed a significant focus on teaching and learning methods in creating music, followed by studies addressing learners' experiences and perceptions of music creating activities. Third, the research topics predominantly focused on teaching and learning methods, fol lowed by studies exploring learners' experiences and perceptions of music creating activities. Fourth, the majority of research subjects were practice-oriented, with studies on human participants and ma terials conducted at comparable rates. The high proportion of practice-oriented studies underscores the potential for advancing empirical studies through practical educational applications. Fifth, the most actively studied educational context for teaching and learning in creating music research was elementary schools, followed by secondary schools and combined elementary-secondary settings. This indicates that teaching and learning in creating music in Korea is primarily centered around schools. Sixth, while studies employing musical instruments slightly outnumbered those using digital media, research involving digital media has sharply increased since the 2020s. This study highlights the need for further research on assessment and evaluation methods, teacher-learner interactions, and the ex pansion of contexts and subjects for teaching and learning in creating music.
