본 연구는 감상곡을 활용한 음악활동 과정에서 1~2세 영아의 음악적 반응이 어떠한 양상으로 전개되고 변화하는지 질적으로 탐구하여 그 의미를 규명하고, 영아음악교육의 실천적 방향을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 W시의 G어린이집 1세반 영아 10명을 대상으로 5곡의 클래식음악을 활용한 음악활동을 총 8회 실시하였다. 또한 영아의 음악적 경험의 자료를 동영상, 현장노트, 교사 면담을 통해 수집하고 질적으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 영아의 반응은 ‘다가가기-응시하기-적극적 표현’의 스펙트럼으로 나타났고, 경험이 누적됨에 따라 탐색적 반응이 즉각적이며 능동적인 참여로 전환되었다. 둘째, 영아들 사이에서는 음악을 매개로 바라보고 모방하며 정서를 공유하는 등의 상호작용이 이루어졌고, 모방은 반복을 거쳐 자신의 놀이로 확장되었다. 셋째, 영아는 음악의 분위기, 빠르기, 셈여림, 박자와 리듬, 가락 등의 음악요소를 분별하고 이에 맞춰 느낌을 표현하였으며, 일부 유아는 복합적인 음악요소에 통합적으로 반응하였다. 넷째, 영아는 모방에서 출발하여 자신만의 동작을 추가하며 창의적으로 발전해가는 모습을 보였다. 본 연구는 2024 개정 표준보육과정의‘영유아·놀이 중심’ 철학에 부합하는 영아음악교육의 실천적 방향을 모색했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study qualitatively explores how the musical responses of 1-2-year-old infants unfold and change during listening-based music activities using selected classical pieces, and it seeks practical implications for infant music education. Ten infants in the one-year class at G Childcare Center (W City) participated in eight sessions featuring five classical works. Data were collected through class room video recordings, field notes, and peer-teacher interviews and were analyzed qualitatively. Findings were as follows. First, infants’ responses spanned a spectrum from approaching and watch ing to active expression; with repeated exposure, exploratory behaviors shifted toward immediate, agentive participation. Second, music mediated peer interaction-looking, imitation, and sharing af fect-and imitation, through repetition, developed into children’s own play. Third, infants differ entiated musical elements (overall mood, tempo, dynamics, beat/rhythm, melody) and expressed them through movement, vocalization, and object manipulation; some displayed integrated responses to multiple elements simultaneously. Fourth, beginning with imitation, infants added self-generated movements and progressed toward creative expression. The study contributes by proposing practice directions for infant music listening aligned with the child- and play-centered philosophy of the 2024 revised Standard Childcare Curriculum.
