Abstract
In Soutth Korea, the number of early childhood students from diverse cultural backgrounds is steadily increasing. In this context, providing culturally responsive educational programs has become essential for creating inclusive learning environments where allchildren can fully develop their capabilities. Recently, Generative AI (GAI) has emerged as a powerful tool with the potential totransform educational practices in early childhood education. Recently, generative AI(GAI) has rapidly emerged as a powerful toolrevolutionizing educational practices even in the field of early childhood education. This study developed a culturally responsiveartificial intelligence (AI) education program for early childhood education using the GAI tool. Its effectiveness was evaluatedthrough a case study with eight first- and second-grade students at S Elementary School in Sunchang County, Jeonbuk State, whorepresent diverse cultural backgrounds. The findings indicate that They developed a deeper understanding of their cultural identityand demonstrated a very high level of self-esteem (4.7 points on a 5-point scale). In addition, the GAI tool functioned as a learning resource that sensitively addressed students’ diverse cultural needs while promoting equity and inclusivity. Students perceivedGAI as ‘a friend who understands them,’ which encouraged more active participation in class. These results suggest that GAI holdssignificant potential for enhancing culturally responsive learning experiences in early childhood education.
