이 논문은 신명기 12장의 수사비평적 해석을 통해 신 12장은 이스라엘이 약속의 땅에 들어가면서 자신들의 정체성을 하나님의 선택된 제의 공동체로 인식하고 하나님의 은총에 대한 응답으로서의 율법에 기초를 둔 참된 예배확립을 주창하고 있음을 보여주고자 한다. 신 12장은 신명기 법전을 여는 첫 장으로서 하나님의 구원은총에 대한 회고를 역사(1-4장)와 율법수여(6-11장)를 통해 보여주는 앞의 장(1-11장)들과 신명기 법전(12-26장)을 연결시키는 역할을 한다. 과거의 은총을 기억하고, 현재의 율법 준수를 통해, 미래의 은총으로 확장해 나갈 수 있는 근거는 바로 야웨의 선택된 예배공동체로서의 자기 정체성에 근거를 두고 있다. 신 12장의 수사학적 연구는 본문이 동심원적 구조를 띠고 있음을 보여준다. 본문은 하나님의 말씀을 지키라는 명령(AA'; 1절, 32절)으로 시작과 끝을 맺고 있으며, 그 사이에 다른 신들에 대한 경고(BB'; 2-3절, 29-31절)가 중심에 나오는 두 가지 예배개혁(4-12절; 13-28절)을 이어주고 있다. 이러한 수사학적 구조는 12장의 핵심내용이 제의의 중앙화(4-12절)와 세속화(13-28절)로 대표되는 예배개혁을 통한 야웨의 주권확립임을 보여준다.
Abstract
The study presents a rhetorical analysis of Deut 12 to demonstrate the importance of Deut 12 in its present form of the book of Deuteronomy. First, Deut 12 plays a crucial role to connect the first eleven chapters that recall the works of Yahweh for Israel and the Deuteronomic Law(12-26). Second, as the first chapter of the Law, Deut 12 shows Israelites' self understanding of the community as 'cultic/worship community' of Yahweh. The chapter illustrates a chiastic pattern, in which the reform of the worship stands at the center. The reform is made in two directions: Centralization(vv. 4-12) and Secularization(vv. 13-28). Centralization of worship purports the establishment of the authority of Yahweh in the community. Centralization of worship, i.e. worship in the place where God chooses, is peculiar feature of Israelite worship, distinguished from other nations of Canaan. Secularization of worship illustrates worship itself is the practice of the divine will, love of your neighbors and fulfillment of justice. The ultimate goal of the reform through the centralization and secularization of worship is to establish the authority of Yahweh as the sole object of worship.
