유튜브 정치동영상의 정치적 효과에 관한 시론적 연구 : 21대 총선을 중심으로

생활세계 뿐만 아니라 정치과정에서도 디지털 전환의 흐름은 매우 크게 가속화되고 있다. 특히 콘텐츠 생산과 소비의 무게중심이 텍스트에서 동영상으로 무게중심이 이동되는 현상이 대단히 두드러지게 나타나고 있다. 따라서 유튜브와 같은 동영상 플랫폼이 차지하는 위상도 비약적으로 제고되고 있으며, 그것이 정치과정에 미치는 영향력도 크게 주목받고 있다. 이렇듯 정치 동영상의 영향력은 크게 증대하고 있지만, 그것이 선거캠페인과 같은 정치과정에서 어떠한 효과를 낳고 있는지에 대해서는 분석이 거의 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이러한 측면에서 이 논문은 선거캠페인에서 정치 동영상이 지지를 강화하는지 아니면 전환하는지에 대한 효과를 고찰하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 이 연구는 유권자 설문조사 자료를 활용하여 경험적 분석을 수행하였다.
Abstract
The wave of digital transformation is accelerating not only in the life world but also in the political process. In particular, the shift in the center of gravity of content production and consumption from text to video is very prominent. Therefore, the status occupied by video platforms such as YouTube has been dramatically improved, and the influence it has on the political process is receiving a lot of attention. As such, the influence of political videos is greatly increasing, but little analysis has been done on the effect they have on political processes such as election campaigns. In this respect, this paper intends to examine the effect of political video on whether political video enhances or converts support in an election campaign. For this purpose, this study performed empirical analysis using voter survey data.
