대학 글쓰기교육의 현황 진단과 발전방안 연구

Abstract

In order to adapt to a rapidly changing society, one needs to be a creator, not a consumer of knowledge. Thus, learners should be able to actively and creatively cope with the situation that they first confront when entering to society. The right people who this society has demanded have encouraged deepening of college general education. Universities have been established college general education system and made an effort to stably manage them. As this stream of education, college writing education has been remarkably developed. The development of college writing education is from focusing on communication skills in social atmosphere and the demand for academic writing skills. Pai Chai University also demands for the need of systematically managing writing curriculum, but it is actually in a difficult situation due to internal and external issues. In order to solve this problem, Pai Chai University has imposed writing department. With writing department, systematic management of writing education can be promoted. Pai Chai University has two curriculum for liberal arts writing. <Thinking and Expression> is a basic writing course for freshmen and <Useful Writing and Discussion> is an advanced writing course for juniors and seniors. Moreover, Pai Chai University has writing classes and tutors give advice on essays that students write. Every University including Pai Chai University should encourage writing education. In order to promote college writing education, one needs to make writing road map, manage basic-advanced writing course, increase the number of tutors and researchers for feedback, and make a variety of extracurricular program. College writing education should be reinforced by ‘Dual Transferal.’
