본 연구의 목적은 서비스러닝의 효과성을 다룬 기존 연구들을 대상으로 메타분석을 실시함으로써 서비스러닝이 대학생들의 핵심역량 신장에 미치는 효과를 확인해 보는 것이었다. 이를 위해 국내에서 발표된 서비스러닝 관련 연구물들을 수집, 분석하여 서비스러닝의 효과성을 보고한 연구결과들을 '효과크기'에 의한 표준화를 거친 후 평균 효과크기를 구하였다. 또한, 핵심역량별로 효과성 요인들을 재범주화한 후 각 역량별 평균 효과크기를 구한 후 메타 ANOVA 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서비스러닝의 전반적인 교육 효과성은 중간 크기 이상인 .63의 효과크기로 나타났다. 둘째, 서비스러닝의 핵심역량별 효과성의 경우, 종합적 사고력(1.13), 글로벌 역량(.84), 대인관계 역량(.69), 자원정보기술 활용 역량(.55), 자기관리 역량(.53), 의사소통 역량(.35)의 순으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과에 근거할 때, 대학에서 서비스러닝을 적용하고자 할 경우 핵심역량 중 종합적 사고력, 글로벌 역량 및 대인관계 등의 신장에 초점을 맞춘 교육과정, 교수학습, 시스템 지원 등의 교육적·행재정적 지원을 강화할 필요가 있다..
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of service learning on the enhancement of core competencies of college students by conducting a meta-analysis on existing studies dealing with the effectiveness of service learning. Studies published in Korea were collected and analyzed, and the results of studies reporting the effectiveness of service learning were standardized by 'effect size'. The results of this study are as follows. First, the overall educational effectiveness of service learning was found to have an effect size of .63, which is more than a medium size. Second, the effectiveness of service learning by core competency was in the order of comprehensive thinking, global competency, interpersonal competency, and so on. Based on the results of this study, if a university wants to apply service learning, it is necessary to apply it as a curriculum focusing on the development of comprehensive thinking, global competence, and interpersonal competence among core competencies.
