한국어와 아랍어의 신체어휘 관용어 비교연구 -「‘눈’, ‘عين’」과 「‘얼굴’, ‘وجه’」을 중심으로-
A Comparative Study on Body Part Vocabularies Idioms in Korean-Arabic: Focusing on「‘eye’, ‘ عين’」and「‘face’, ‘ وجه’」

This comparative study focuses on the cultural characteristics of the body part vocabulary idioms and aims to investigate which meanings the body part vocabularies 「‘eye’, ‘عين’」 and 「‘face’, ‘وجه’」 respectively, in Korean and Arabic idioms are related to. It found out that first, the two languages have diverse and abundant idioms using the body part vocabularies and the meanings of these idioms could be represented largely in the two classes, namely, the idioms representing ideas and thoughts and the idioms expressing emotions and psychological attitudes. Second, the two languages have a large quantity of body part vocabulary idioms originating from common ideas or thoughts. Third, there are some language-specific idioms using the body part vocabularies in the two languages so that there are no corresponding concepts and emotions among each other.
