목적: 본 연구는 청년이 인식하는 삶의 문제를 유형화하고, 이에 따른 청년센터의 서비스 방향을 모색하고자 Q방법론을 적용하였다 방법: 수도권 거주 20~39세 청년 중 청년센터를 알고 있으나 이용 경험이 거의 없는 24명을 P표본으로 선정하고, 문헌고찰과 심층면담을 통해 도출된 42개의 진술문을 Q표본으로 구성하여 분류를 실시하였다. 결과: 분석 결과 청년의 삶의 문제에 대한 인식은 ‘낯선 지도 위의 항해자’, ‘버티는 하루의 무게’, ‘고요한 외침’, ‘천천히 걷는 첫걸음’의 4가지 유형으로 도출되었다. 각 유형은 진로와 정체성 탐색의 불안, 생존의 압박, 정서적 고립, 도전의 주저 등으로 요약되며, 공통적으로 청년센터에 대한 정서적 거리감과 관계 기반 지원 욕구가 확인되었다. 시사점: 이에 따라 본 연구는 청년센터가 정보 제공 중심의 일회성 서비스에서 벗어나, 유형별 접근이 가능한 정서․관계 기반 맞춤형 프로그램을 운영할 필요성을 제언하였다. 또한 청년의 정책 체감도 향상과 제도적 신뢰 회복을 위한 실질적인 연계 시스템 강화의 필요성도 제시하였다.
Abstract
Objective: This study employed Q methodology to develop a typology of young adults' perceptions of life challenges and examine implications for youth center service delivery approaches. Methods: Twenty-four young adults aged 20-39 residing in the Seoul metropolitan area, who demonstrated awareness of youth centers but limited utilization experience, were selected as the P-sample. Forty-two statements derived through systematic literature review and in-depth interviews constituted the Q-sample for Q-sort analysis. Results: The analysis identified four distinctive typologies of young adults’ perceptions regarding life challenges: ‘Navigators on Unfamiliar Maps,’ ‘Bearers of Daily Burdens,’ ‘Silent Outcries,’ and ‘Cautious First Steps.’ These typologies were respectively characterized by career and identity exploration anxiety, survival pressures, emotional isolation, and challenge avoidance behaviors. Cross-typological consensus revealed perceived barriers toward youth centers and pronounced preferences for relationship-based support interventions. Conclusions: This study recommends that youth centers shift from information-dissemination-oriented, episodic service models to typology-specific, relationship-centered customized programming. Additionally, the findings underscore the imperative to strengthen systematic linkage mechanisms to enhance young adults' policy engagement and restore institutional credibility.
