대학교육 경쟁력과 혁신 요구가 높아지면서 대학의 특성을 고려한 유연한 교육체제가 필요하게 되었다. 특히 공학계열 중심인 K대학의 경우 기술변화에 능동적으로 대응하고 실제적인 문제를 해결할 수 있는 창의적 엔지니어를 양성하기 위해 졸업설계 교과목의 교육목적, 내용, 평가, 운영방식을 획기적으로 개선하는 졸업설계 집중학기제를 도입하였다. K대학의 졸업설계 집중학기제는 2018년 1학기 2개 전공에서 시범 운영 후 2019년 1학기 3개 전공에서 4학년 1학기 재학생을 대상으로 운영하였다. 참여 교수자와 학생을 대상으로 졸업설계 집중학기제 실태 및 효과성 인식조사를 실시한 결과, 기존과 대비하여 교수자의 지도시간이 향상되었고 졸업작품의 질 향상, 학생의 역량 함양 등 졸업설계 집중학기제를 도입하고자 하였던 목적에 비추어 효과가있는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
As the competitiveness of university education and the demand for innovation have increased, a flexible educational systemconsidering the characteristics of universities has become necessary. In particular, in the case of K-university, the intensive semesterof Graduation Design, which dramatically improves the educational purpose, content, evaluation, and operation method of thegraduate design subject, in order to cultivate a creative engineer capable of actively responding to technological change and solvingpractical problems. K University’s intensive semester of graduation design was operated in two majors in the first semester in 2018,and three majors in the first semester in 2019. A result of survey on the status and effectiveness of intensive semester of graduationdesign was conducted for participating instructors and students, it was shown that the purpose of introducing intensive semester ofgraduation design, such as improving the instruction time, the quality of the graduation work and cultivating the competency of thestudent, was effective.
