한자학습사전의 현황과 과제

본고는 한자와 한자어 학습에 필요한 한자학습사전의 현황을 점검하고 문제점을 파악한 뒤 향후 과제에 대한 제언을 기술하였다. 표제자를 선정할 때는 학습 대상자의 학습 목적과 함께 사전의 전체적인 구성을 고려할 필요가 있다. 국가 차원에서 자형이 명확히 제시되어 있지 않은 상태이기에 다소 어려움은 있지만, 적어도 동일 사전 내에서는 동일한 字形, 字體를 사용해야 한다. 표제자의 의미항목 선정과 조직은 용례로 제시되는 한자어에 근거해야 하며, 해당 한자어들은 학습용 어휘 등의 말뭉치에서 선별되어야 한다. 한자어의 의미 풀이는 국어사전의 풀이를 보다 쉽고 간명하게 하되 형태소의 의미를 고려해야 한다. 한자학습사전은 언어적인 정보만이 아닌 종합사전의 형태를 취하게 될 것인데, 字源 등의 부가 정보의 기술에 있어 구성의 통일성 보다는 학습의 효율성, 정보의 정확성을 우선 고려할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This essay examines the current situation of learner's dictionaries necessary for studying Chinese Characters and Sino-Korean words, and describes our proposal about the future task. When selecting headwords, we need to consider the whole composition of a dictionary, along with student learning goals. We have not had a definite Chinese character type at national level yet. In spite of the difficulty, however, at the very least, we ought to maintain the use of a common character type and font in a common dictionary. We also suggest that the selection and organization of an item’s meaning should be based on Sino-Korean words given as examples in a dictionary, and the Sino-Korean word should be selected from a corpus related to vocabulary that is being learned. The definition of Sino-Korean word needs not only to be simpler and more concise than the Korean dictionary version, but also to reflect the meaning of the grapheme. A learner's dictionary of Chinese characters does not merely provide linguistic information, but also assumes the form from a comprehensive dictionary. Therefore, when it provides additional information, we should take account of the efficiency of learning or the accuracy of information, rather than the unity of the composition.
