Retention of water in the stratum corneum of the skin epidermis plays an important role in the regulation of skin function. Water loss may lead to a gradual deterioration in the skin appearance and to irregular skin disorders. The aim of a formulation containing 5% tannase-converted green tea extract (FTGE). Skin properties were measured by non-invasive biophysical techniques using a corneometer, tewameter, and mexameter to measure skin hydration, transepidermal water loss (TEWL), melanin, and erythema values, respectively.
