사립 미용고등학교 학생들의 교육과정 만족도가 자아존중감 및 진로 결정에 미치는 영향 - 충북의 Y 고등학교를 중심으로 -

미용고등학교 학생들의 교육과정 만족도와 인식 차이에서, 여학생이 남학생보다 ‘이론수업과 실습수업의 연관성 만족도’ 가 유의미하게 높게 나타났으며 (p<0.01), 미용 교과 중 ‘현장실습교육’이 필요하다고 인식하는 학생이 43.4%로 가장 많았으며, 여학생이 남학생보다 미용 교과 중 ‘현장 실습교육’과 ‘미용관련 자격증 취득’이 필요하다고 인식하였다. 성별에 따른 ‘자아존중감’은 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다 (p> 0.01). 진로 결정 정도에서 진로를 ‘결정하였으나 변할 수 있다’ 가 37.6%로 가장 높았으며, 졸업 후 희망 진로는 ‘대학 진학’이46.7%로 가장 높았고, 진로 결정은 ‘2년제 대학 진학’이 20.7%, ‘4년제 대학 진학’ (19.0%)이 높게 나타났다. 성별에 따른 차이에서, 여학생이 남학생보다 ‘진로를 확실히 결정하고 노력하고있다’와 ‘4년제 대학 진학’으로 진로 결정이 높았다. 교육과정 만족도와 자아존중감 관계에서, ‘미용 교과과정에대한 만족도’, ‘이론수업과 실습수업의 연관성 만족도’, ‘교육과정 만족도’가 높을수록 ‘자아존중감’이 높았다. 교육과정 만족도와 진로 결정과의 관계에서, 교육과정 만족도가 높은 학생일수록 진로를 확실히 결정하고 노력하고 있었으며, 진로를 4년제대학 진학으로 많이 결정하였고, 졸업 후에 미용 관련업 취업을많이 희망하고 있었다. 본 연구는 미용을 전공하는 고등학교 학생들의 교육과정 만족도가 자아존중감 및 진로 결정에 미치는 영향을 이해하는 데기초자료를 제공한 면에서 의의가 있다. 반면, 본 연구의 대상은충청지역 청주에 소재하는 Y 미용전공 고등학교 1, 2학년 학생으로 제한하였기 때문에, 연구 결과를 모든 미용전공 고등학생들에게 일반화하는 하는 것에 어려움이 있다. 또한, 미용전공 고등학교의 특성상 남녀의 비율의 표본수의 차이가 있어 한계점이 있다.
Abstract
This study attempted to determine the effects of curriculum satisfaction on self-esteem and career decision-making of private beauty high school students. The study suggests that curriculum satisfaction is higher in females than males; however, there was no difference in self-esteem levels between females and males. When asked about their desired career after graduation, most students responded, ‘going to college’. In terms of a career decision-making method, ‘2-year junior college’ was most preferred. Girls were more committed than boys in setting their career path, and many of them also indicated that they plan to go to a 4-year college. As the respondents’ satisfaction with curriculum and relevance between theory and practices increased, their self-esteem also went up. In addition, as curriculum satisfaction increased, many of them tended to set their career path with confidence and go to a 4-year college. In addition, most respondents wanted to get a cosmetology-related jobs after graduation.
