초록
The aim of this study was to evaluate the inhibitive capacity of ethanolic and methanolic extracts from Ribes fasciculatum (RFEE and RFME, respectively) and Callicarpa japonica (CJEE and CJME, respectively) against oxidative stress in a cell-free system and their cellular viability in human dermal papilla cells (hDPCs). The IC50 values for XO activity were in increasing order RFME (139.6 μg/mL), RFEE (146.1 μg/mL), CJEE (352.9 μg/mL), and CJME (542.2 μg/mL). The EC50 values for SOD-like activity in increasing order were RFME (267.5 μg/mL), CJME (300.7 μg/mL), and RFEE (1957.0 μg/mL); the EC50 of CJEE was not determined. Confirmation of the SC50 values for hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity was not obtained for all samples. However, at 1000 μg/mL, the hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity of RFEE (24.9%) was the highest among the tested extracts. The results of the MTT assay confirmed that the maximum permissible levels (MPLs) of RFEE, RFME, and CJEE to hDPCs were 50, 50, and 25 μg/mL, respectively; the confirmed MPL of CJME was more than 100 μg/mL.
