초록
The purpose of this study was to examine the anti-wrinkle and antioxidant activities of radish, Raphanus sativus roots, as a cosmeceutical, viz. RSW; reflux water extract, RSE; reflux 70% ethanol extract. The highest content of the polyphenol compound was 69.31 mg/g in RSE, and that for the flavonoid compound was 4.43 mg/g in RSE. The highest ABTS and DPPH radical scavenging ability was 97.60% and 86.87% of 2,000 ㎍/mL in RSW. The highest nitrite scavenging capacity for pH 1.2 was 74.30% in RSW at 2,000 ㎍/mL, and the highest condition for pH 3.0 was 42.20% in RSW. The highest SOD-like activity was 21.07% for RSW at 2,000 ㎍/mL. In the analysis of anti-wrinkle activity at 2,000 ㎍/mL, the top result for collagenase inhibition was 55.73% in RSE. In the results for tyrosinase inhibition activity at 2,000 ㎍/mL, the top result was 66.55% in RSW. In RAW264.7 macrophages, no cytotoxicity was confirmed in the radish seed extract, and an increase was observed in the rate of cell survival compared to the untreated control group. In conclusion, radish seed extract may be regarded as a potential resource for use in to controlling free oxygen radicals and aging processes for development of functional foods, medicines, and cosmetic stuffs.
