초록
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the improvement efficacies of Ulmus pumila L. methanol extract (UPME) against aging of skin. Total contents of polyphenolics and flavonoids in the UPME were 418.9 TAE mg/g and 236.1 RE mg/g, respectively. The electron-donating ability of UPME at a concentration of 1,000 μg/mL was 90.0% and the SC50 value of the free radical was 282.9 μg/mL. Inhibition of collagenase, elastase, and mushroom tyrosinase activity by UPME at 1,000 μg/mL was 69.4%, 61.2%, and 65.9%, respectively. The IC50 values were 320.9 μg/mL, 731.1 μg/mL, and 258.6 μg/mL for the activities of collagenase, elastase, and mushroom tyrosinase, respectively. The IC50 values for positive control ascorbic acid or arbutin were 360.3 μg/mL, over 1,000 μg/mL, and 240.7 μg/mL for the activities of collagenase, elastase, and mushroom tyrosinase, respectively.
