Abstract

This study aims to compare and analyze the pilot team, that is,sexual assault investigation team with the felony crime investigationteam of Gwanak police station in Seoul. And on the basis of thetests it is to draw the standard duty and manpower proposal(optimal work model) of the sexual assault investigation teamand to present policy implications. Based on comparative analysis of the teams, the average timeof the felony crime investigation team to required in handling acase turned out to be 1,712 minutes. On the other hand, when itcomes to the pilot team, it is shown to be 1,045.8 minutes, ashorter time than the above. Nevertheless it is estimated to makea substantial contribution to care and support the victims throughcounseling them and to institutionalize facilities for protection. In this paper, optimal work model is defined as a work schemethat comprise not only sexual assault cases handling but victimprotection as principal duties, and moreover determine necessarymanpower by the extended work model. The model, in the perspective of work range, might just aswell evaluate as a good work-system which is free of unnecessary investigations of the victims, but on the other handextends to a significant care and strengthens evidence analysisactivities for them.
