이 연구는 디지털 생활세계에서 일상화되고 있는 불안을 디지털 위험 현실의 반영으로 보는 데서 벗어나 디지털 불안 주체의 사회적 형성과 결부된 것으로 접근하고 이를 평범한 디지털 이용자인 20대 청년들의 경험과 인식을 중심으로 분석하고 있다. 분석의 주요 내용은 다음과 같다. 우선, 20대 청년들은 위태롭고 불안정한 디지털 생활세계를 온·오프라인이 연결된 디지털 매개된 장소의 양가적 일상성과 직·간접적으로 체감하는 디지털 매개된 위험들을 통해 사회적 현실로 의미화하고 있다. 또한 디지털 생활세계는 긍정 혹은 부정의 양극단이 아니라 편리하면서 불편하고 또한 기회이면서 위험이라는 혼재된 동시성이라는 특징을 띠며 이와 결부된 20대 청년들의 디지털 불안은 모호하고 복합적인 양상을 띤다. 이러한 복잡미묘한 디지털 불안은 20대 청년들이 자신들을 디지털 친화적인 세대로 호명하면서도 동시에 모호하고 복합적인 불안 감각을 내면화하고 이에 대처하기 위해 나름의 고군분투를 실행하는 주체화 과정을 통해 보다 구체적으로 드러난다.
Abstract
This study approaches the anxiety of precarity that is becoming common in the digital life world not just as a reflection of digital risks, but as tied to the social construction of precarious subjectivities in digitally-mediated reality, and analyzes this with a focus on the experiences and perceptions of young people in their 20s. The main contents are as follows. First, young people in their 20s consider the precarious and unstable digital life world as a social reality through the ambivalent everydayness of digitally-mediated places connected both online and offline, and through the digitally-mediated risks they experience directly or indirectly. Second, the digital life world is characterized not by being either positive or negative, but by the mixed simultaneity of convenience and inconvenience, opportunity and risk, and this characteristic of the digital life world is reflected in the ambiguous and complex anxiety of precarity experienced by young people in their 20s. Finally, the complex and subtle anxiety of precarity in the digital life world can be seen more concretely through the processes in which young people in their 20s internalize an ambiguous and complex anxiety of precarity and carry out their own struggles to cope with it..
