사람들은 자신의 은사를 발견하고 그것을 활용하기 시작하지만 언제나 시험적이고 서투르기 때문에, 그들은 늘 자신의 감성뿐만 아니라,지성으로 그들에게 일어나는 일이 무엇인지를 알기 원한다. 따라서 오늘날 교회는 성령의 은사에 대해 성경적으로 그리고 신학적으로 바르게 이해할 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 교회의 이런 필요성에 부응하여 성령 은사에 대한 신학적 이해를 도모하고자 한다. 성령의 은사에 대한연구는 여러 가지 측면에서 연구될 수 있을 것이다. 은사의 속성과 특성을 따라서, 성령 은사들의 경중(輕重)을 따라서, 은사의 나열에 따라서 또는 은사에 대한 관심도에 따라서 달리 연구될 수도 있을 것이다. 필자는 성령의 은사를 논함에 있어서, 성령 은사의 본질과 속성, 예언,방언, 신유에 대한 은사, 그리고 그 이외의 은사들에 신학적 이해에 관심을 두고 있다. 그러나 여기서는 제 은사들에 대한 신학적인 이해는 접어두고 다만 성령의 은사란 무엇인가에 대한 조명, 즉 성령의 은사그 자체의 본질과 속성에 대한 이해를 고찰하고자 한다.
Abstract
This article seeks to rightly understanding theologically the essence and attribute of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The study of the essence and attribute of gifts of the Holy Spirit leads to the discussion of three main subjects, such as the meaning and essence of gifts of the Holy Spirit, types of gifts, and the temporality and permanence of gifts. We can recognize the appearance of gifts of the Holy Spirit remarkably from the period of apostles. The gift(c h a r i s m a) can be defined as all things that may indicate ability, power and possibility given by God’s grace for His work. Gifts transcend the classification of natural and supernatural ability. It can be only obtained by the Holy Spirit’s grace but not by efforts or means of human, so that it is managed only by the will of the Holy Spirit. The fruits of the Spirit have a character related with gifts of the Spirit, but essentially comes from the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The New Testament did not record all gifts of the Spirit. The gifts described in the New Testament are only representative gifts. Gifts have a character of diversity. We can classify diversely to rightly understand the gifts of the Holy Spirit for the purpose of theological view or teaching, etc. Yet it is not easy to set a specific way of classification. The gifts given for us can not only be temporary but also permanent. All gifts are temporary in their being effective only before the time of Jesus’ coming again and that gifts of the Holy Spirit can disappear after appearing, but in the side of that some gifts can be sustained throughout all one’s life, we can say some gifts are permanent. Gifts include essentially both temporality and permanence. We have to understand rightly the essence and attribute of gifts of the Holy Spirit. Through this right understanding, we have to sweep away misunderstanding of the gifts of the Spirit which can be happened in the church community and contribute for growth and virtues of the church by well usage of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
