라반 움직임 분석(LMA)은 인간 움직임의 내적 의도와 표현의 특질을 탐구하기 위한 분석 기법으로, 움직임 교육․연구․치료․창작 활동뿐만 아니라 컴퓨팅 움직임 분석 기술의 일환으로 광범위하게 활용되고 있다. 이번 연구는 LMA의 모티프 노테이션과 에포트의 개념을 이론적으로 고찰하고, 태평무의 움직임 분석에 적용하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 특히 선행연구에서 논의되지 못했던 태평무 주요 춤사위의 모티프와 에포트 분석에 초점을 맞춰, ‘원돌림 딛기’, ‘겹걸음’, ‘뿌림 사위’, ‘평사위’, ‘몸통트는 사위’, ‘어르는 사위’의 신체 사용, 동작의 형태 및 수행 방식, 움직임에 내재된 의도 및 특질을 분석하고, LMA의 기호 체계를 사용하여시각화하였다. LMA 기반 태평무 춤사위 용어집 마련을 위한 기초 자료를 구축하고, 움직임 분석의 시각을 통해 차세대 전승 교육에 접목할 수 있는 사유의 한 방식을 제안하였다는 데 연구의 의의를 두고자 한다. 후속 연구를 통해 LMA를 통한 태평무 주요 춤사위의 분석을 지속할 예정이다.
Abstract
Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) is an analysis technique used to explore the inner intention of human movement and the characteristics of expression. It is widely used in Human-Computer Interaction as well as in movement education, research, therapy, and creative activities. This study is a theoretical investigation into the concept of Effort and Motif Notation in LMA and analysis of Taepyeongmu's primary dance moves. The focus of the study is to analyze body use, movement patterns, and characteristics inherent in the movement, and to visualize the Effort and Motif with LMA's symbol system. The significance of this study is to establish basic data for LMA-based Taepyeongmu's movement glossary and suggest LMA as a teaching-learning and documenting method that can be applied in the transmission of Korean dance heritage.
