지속가능발전목표(SDGs) 관련 무용예술의 현황 - 환경 친화적 활동을 중심으로

본고는 지속가능한 발전 목표(SDGs) 관련 무용예술의 사례를 환경 친화적 활동 중심으로 탐색함으로써 지속가능성과 무용예술의 동행 가능성 및 쟁점을 논의한다. 이를 위해 해외 및 국내 무용예술 활동 사례 및 학술연구에 관한 문헌조사를 실시하고, 인류와 환경의 공존에 대해 관심을 표해온 ‘댑댄스 프로젝트’의 공동대표 2인과 ‘사비댄스 프로젝트’ 대표 1인을 심층면담하였다. 연구결과, 무용예술의 운영방식을 통한 접근 유형은 탄소중립투어, 환경 친화적 홍보물의 제작, 탄소발자국을 최소화하는 의상과 소품으로 나타났다. 안무를 통한 접근 유형은 공연 작품, 공연 외의 안무적 실천으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 도출한 주요 쟁점은 사회적 책임과 예술적 가치 추구의 동행, 시대와 세대 변화에 대응하는 무용예술의 생존 전략, 신체를 통한 예술적 경험의 효용성 중심으로 논의하였다. 본 연구는 현대인이 직면한 생존의 문제이자 미래 삶의 질을 좌우하는 지속가능성의 개념을 무용예술과 연계하여 논의하고, 실천 방향성을 제시하였음에 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study explores dance in the context of the UN sustainable development goals and discusses issues focusing on environmentally friendly activities. On the operational side, sustainable approaches include carbon neutral tours, the production of environmentally friendly promotional materials, and costumes and props that minimize carbon footprints. Choreography based approaches appear in performances and choreography practices. The main issues derived through this were the combined pursuit of social responsibility and artistic value, and survival strategies for dance art in response to different times and generations, and the utility of artistic experience through the body. This study is meaningful in that it discusses the concept of sustainability, which is a problem of survival faced by modern people and determines the quality of future life, in connection with dance art and proposes future directions.
