마틴 로이드 존스의 논리적 설교의 기원과 적용 ― 로마서 설교를 중심으로

초록

마틴 로이드 존스의 강해설교는 분석적이며 논리적인 설교의 대표적인 한 모범을 보여준다. 그러나 로이드 존스의 설교는 단순한 그의 목회적 산물이 아니라 그가 걸어왔던 다양한 삶의 자리에서 형성된 것이다. 특히 성 바돌로매 병원에서의 의학수련은 그의 논리적 설교에 결정적 영향을 끼쳤다. 또한 믿음과 성경, 설교에 대한 로이드 존스의 이해 역시 설교에 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 로이드 존스의 논리적 전달 방식은 크게 다섯 가지이다. 첫째, 전체에서 부분으로 진행한다. 둘째, 부정에서 긍정적 명제로 진행한다. 셋째, 성경을 논증의 증거로 제시한다. 넷째, 질문법과 가상반론을 통하여 대화적으로 진행한다. 다섯째, 반복을 통하여 강조한다. 로이드 존스의 전달법은 그것의 장점에도 불구하고 텔레비전에 익숙한 현대 회중들을 고려할 때, 이미지와 상상력의 언어가 보완될 필요가 있다.

Abstract

Lloyd‐Jones's preaching is valuable in that it shows the good example of logical preaching. Two backgrounds seems tot help Lloyd‐Jones develop his logical approach. First is the experience and training of his youth in hospital. Second is his understanding of Christian faith, the Bible and preaching. In his communication, Lloyd‐Jones proceeds from the whole to the particular and from the negative to the positive. And he relies on wide‐raging biblical references and on interaction between the preacher and the hearers. Repetition is one of the methods for emphasizing his message. Despite the merits of Lloyd‐Jones's approaches to communication, the relative lack of imagination and image is an area that could be improved upon, considering of the people who are familiar with mass media.
