본 글은 초등학교 도덕교과에서 가치갈등 해결능력 신장에 도움을 주는 대화식 교수법에 대해 논의한 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 가치갈등의 의미와 원천을 밝히고, 전통적 교수법과 소크라테스식 교수법의 차이점을 검토함으로써 가치갈등 해결능력의 신장에 대화식 교수법이 적합함을 부각시킨다. 그리고 대화식 교수법에 해당하는 소크라테스식 교수법과 탐구공동체식 교수법을 비교 분석한다. 교사가 이러한 대화식 교수법을 통해 학생들의 다차원적 사고력과 가치갈등 해결능력을 신장시키고자 한다면, 대화의 기본 규칙을 학생들과 함께 정하고 발문 능력을 갖출 필요가 있을 것이다. 마지막으로, 본 글은 교사가 학생들의 가치갈등 해결능력의 신장에 기여할 수 있는 여섯 가지의 교수 전략을 제시한다.
Abstract
This paper argues about dialogical teaching methods helping students to resolve value conflicts in the elementary moral subject. First of all, for this purposes it emphasizes that a dialogical teaching is appropriate to resolve value conflicts through disclosing the meaning and resources of value conflicts, reviewing the differences between a traditional teaching and Socratic teaching. And this paper analyzes Socratic teaching and inquiry-community teaching which have a dialogical teaching approach. If teachers want to help students cultivate a multi-dimensional thinking and resolve a value conflict, he would make basic rules of dialogue with students, need to have knowledges about open questionings. Finally, this paper suggests six teaching strategies by which teachers help students to solve value conflicts.
