본 연구는 초등학교에서 교육연극을 활용하여 다문화교육 프로그램을 개발하는 것이다. 대표적인 다문화 교수법인 EEE(Esteem, Empathy, Equity) 모델을 바탕으로 소통(Exchange)의 가치를 구현한 4E(사이) 다문화교육 프로그램은 교육연극을 활용하여 4학년 2학기 2단원 사회과 사회변화와 우리생활에 적용한 결과, 교과 교육적 측면에서 통합 교육적 접근으로 여러 교과교육에서 활용되어질 수 있었다. 사회적 교육 측면으로는 교육연극의 문제해결과정을 통해 포괄적인 시각에서 다문화현상에 대한 비판적‧반성적 사고를 할 수 있는 계기가 되었다. 예술 교육적 측면으로도 창의력을 필요로 하는 교육연극의 구성 과정을 통하여 4E 관련 가치를 감성과 이성 그리고 신체를 모두 활용하는 경험을 할 수 있었다. 따라서 다문화교육에 적합한 교육연극 프로그램과 시스템 개발을 위한 지속적인 노력과 관심이 요구된다.
Abstract
This purpose of the present study was to develop a multicultural education program using drama in education. 4E was designed specifically from the general teaching method in the multicultural education, the EEE model highlighting the value of Esteem, Empathy, Equity and Exchange was added. It was applied to the topic of social change and our life in the 4th grade and the results as follows: In the side of curriculum education, it was susceptible of various subjects as integrated education. As for social education, students were motivated to have critical thinking and reflective mind through solving the multicultural problems. For art education, they develop creativity making full use of emotion, intellect and body during the process of drama in education. These results strongly support the development of more adaptable multicultural programs using drama in education.
