Abstract
This paper is an trial essay to reflect on the significances of the artificial intelligence(AI) onhuman life and education. The recent remarkable achievements of AI request an profound reflectionon the unique characteristics of human thought that cannot be replaced by AI, and where itoriginated. From a historical perspective, AI technology is clearly an high-tech achievement, but it isalso a phenomenon that shows the extremes of materialization as a human alienation. AI technologyof today aims to turn human nature as a ‘thinking being’ into the objects that exist outside of humanbeing, relying on the power of science. Behind this AI technology, there is the philosophicalassumptions of physicalism, According to it, all mental phenomena can be explained or be ‘brokendown’ by scientific laws. In this way, AI technology shows the formidable power that intend to'materialize' human nature as an thinking being. In modern philosophical thoughts, the assumptions of physicalism which call for so called ‘sensorydata theory’, had been regarded as ‘self-contradiction’ assumption. For something, in human thoughtor consciousness, to be recognized as ‘one sensory data’, there must be already conscious functionthat recognizes it as ‘a certain sensory data’. Collingwood’s view of imagination and consciousness, focuses this fundamental functions or importances of human consciousness in human being. From hispoint of view, man as an thinking being is also the owner of feelings and imaginations as an livingorganism, and his thinking can never be separated from those human existential dimensions. Thisshows that human thinking is based on feelings and imaginations as living organisms, and thatteachers as human beings are preconditions for the possibility of education itself.
