김종삼 시 「왕십리」에 나타난 주체 의식

Abstract

This paper is aimed at figuring out a sense of sovereignty and the relationship with others shown in Kim Jong-sam’s poem titled 「Wangsimni」 to take a look at meanings of Kim’s early poems. The particularity of space and time to which the poet has held fast is materialized in this text which helps people look at the fundamental basis forming a world of his early poems. In consequence, for this paper, an attempt was made to read this poem closely focusing on a fact that the poem has unique aesthetic qualities within and an aspect that the existing studies haven’t spotlighted it as a single text. The final goal of this study is to clarifying the direction of Kim’s early poems through such a tracking process. To realize it, texts of Kim’s proses will be actively used as a reference point of the poet. For attempting to analyze the structural aspect, cinematic techniques, such as ‘screen,’ ‘overlap’ and ‘fade-out,’ shall be applied to interpret transition processes and meanings of poems. It is because 「Wangsimni」 contains not only poetic ‘fantasy’ but also fears of poetic subjects about that they can lose their leaps and the frame of pain after ‘fantasy.’ Like this, poems, fantasy and all imaginations which can be discussed about the literary truth are presented on the screen of space which is the poem titled 「Wangsimni」. 「Wangsimni」 probably is a prelude informing about appearance of poetic subjects of an action to open a new ethical horizon of our preview. Such an action of poetic subjects probably is the only ethics of arrival which can sound the (im)possibility at 「Wangsimni」 where arrival is eternally suspended. It proves ‘aestheticism’ of Kim Jong-sam, a poet who wanted to materialize a world of the past/present, future, visibility/invisibility, and existence/non-existence.
