초록
This paper examines the development of post-revolutionary Russian Futurism in Moscow and Petrograd in terms of “inheritance and transformation” as a cultural mechanism. After the October Revolution, Futurists as a leftist turned their attention to a revolutionary theme, and started to focus on art that is engaged in ‘life’ rather than ‘art for art’. Thus, Russian futurism as a artistic trend is expanded to sociocultural dimension. This, however, was not the end of Russian Futurism. The successive attempts of pre-revolutionary Futurism are confirmed in the process from the Poets’ Cafe and Kom-fut to the 1920s Lef led by Mayakovsky. Unlike other Futurists who moved to the provincial cities due to the suppression of Bolsheviks after the revolution, Mayakovsky remains in the center of Russia, maintains the foothold of Futurism. This paper reveals the successive attempts of Futurism and the mechanism by which Futurism combines with the political revolution and the Soviet regime. The main subject of the study will be Lef poetics and the 1920s works of Mayakovsky, especially his poem ‘About This’.
