Abstract
This study aims to achieve pedagological implications by analysing mathematical justification and disproof of high-ranking highschool students when they confirm a presumption as being true or false and convince others of their opinion. The following conclusions were drawn from the current study. First, each student used various types of justification, and none of them remained at the empirical justification level. Some of them failed to justify their tasks because they did not know the definition of the concept which was being used in the task. Second, there were various types of disproofs, and these types could be categorized into four sub-types. Most students perceived that counterexamples were one of the disproof measures, but they avoided presenting concrete counterexamples because they either tried to use general terms, or judged concrete counterexamples as having a low value.
